20 November: Governor Pat Quinn from the US state of Illinois signs a invoice granting marriage to similar-intercourse couples. Hawaii signs a bill granting marriage to same-sex couples, making Hawaii the fifteenth such US state. As parts of it were modified, the Bill was thus despatched back to the lower home on 17 April for a closing scrutiny and handed on 23 April by a 331-225 vote.
